What are the qualifications to become a tutor with K12 Tutoring?

All of our tutors must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Currently reside in the U.S.
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Can provide documentation verifying they are an active state-certified teacher in any U.S. state
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in the English language

How much will I earn as a K12 Tutor, and how will I get paid?

At K12 Tutoring, ensuring equitable compensation for our tutors is very important to us. Our fee structure entails a student rate of $65 per hour, with a substantial proportion directed towards the tutor’s earnings. Tutors will have opportunities to earn more over time. You will be paid every other week.

What will I need to apply?

We have streamlined the application process as much as possible. After filling out an application, selected candidates will be invited to an information session to learn in more detail what K12 Tutoring has to offer. Tutors will complete a background check where they will provide the following:

  • An active, valid teaching certificate in any U.S. state
  • Contact information
  • Education information
  • Work experience documentation

What would my commitment be as an online tutor?

We know life can get hectic. Since you have control of your schedule, you can commit to providing as much or as little tutoring as your time allows. There is no minimum number of hours we require you to work. You can be as active as you would like.

Are there any restrictions on tutoring if I live in a certain area?

No! We are happy to employ the best tutors from all over the United States.
